In a shocking incident, Bollywood icon Saif Ali Khan was hospitalized on Thursday morning after being attacked and stabbed six times by an intruder at his Bandra residence in Mumbai.
The Mumbai police have released CCTV footage capturing the suspect involved in the alarming attack. The incident occurred during a robbery attempt at Saif and Kareena Kapoor’s home. The footage shows the assailant fleeing the scene shortly after the attack.
According to police reports, the intruder broke into the apartment around 2:30 a.m., demanding ₹1 crore. During the altercation, Saif was stabbed multiple times, sustaining serious injuries, including two deep cuts on his back—one dangerously close to his spinal cord—and a minor wound on his neck. The attacker also injured the children’s nanny before escaping.
Senior police official Gedem Dixit has assured the public that Saif is now out of danger. Law enforcement agencies are actively investigating the case, questioning household staff and others who were present during the robbery.
Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital for emergency surgery, where doctors successfully operated on him. He remains under close observation as medical professionals monitor his recovery. The quick thinking of his son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, played a critical role in ensuring Saif received timely medical attention. With no vehicle readily available, Ibrahim promptly hailed an auto-rickshaw to transport his injured father to the hospital, located just two kilometers away from their home.
As news of the incident spread, friends and family gathered to support Saif. Kareena Kapoor’s cousin Ranbir Kapoor and his wife, Alia Bhatt, were seen visiting Lilavati Hospital. Karisma Kapoor, Saif’s sister-in-law, also arrived to be by the family’s side. Additionally, Saif’s children from his first marriage, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, stayed close to their father throughout the ordeal.
Bollywood director Siddharth Anand, a close friend of Saif, was also spotted at the hospital, showing his support during this difficult time.
