The 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has finalized its drafting process, and Quetta Gladiators have made a significant move by bringing back former Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed.

This time, the Gladiators are gearing up to appoint Sarfaraz as their head coach for the upcoming season.

The development follows the resignation of Australian cricket icon Shane Watson, who stepped down from the head coach position due to other professional commitments. Watson’s departure left the Gladiators searching for a leader, and they have now turned to Sarfaraz for this critical role.

Sarfaraz shares a rich history with Quetta Gladiators, having been a part of the team for nearly a decade.

He captained the side for eight consecutive seasons and famously led them to their maiden PSL title in 2019. Over his tenure, Sarfaraz featured in 86 matches for the franchise, amassing a total of 1,525 runs.

Prior to this season’s draft, Quetta Gladiators had released Sarfaraz from their squad.

For the first time in nine years, he entered the draft pool, but no franchise picked him as a player. Despite this, the Gladiators have now reconnected with Sarfaraz, assigning him a new responsibility as their head coach. This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for both the franchise and Sarfaraz Ahmed.
